Finding the right therapist
Attending psychotherapy takes a commitment of time and energy; therefore, it is important to find the right person to work with. This website is designed to provide you with our philosophy, skills, and experience to help make your decision easier.
If you desire short term counseling to get quickly back on track, we can help. If longer term psychotherapy that explores the connections between the past and present so that maladaptive patterns aren't carried into the future is what you are seeking; we can also help.
A caring, solid relationship is among the most important elements that make growth and healing possible in therapy. We believe that providing therapy in a casual, down-to-earth manner and environment facilitates the therapeutic relationship and helps people feel comfortable, accepted, trusting and free to share things that may be difficult to acknowledge.
No one school of therapy is best for everyone and every problem. We use strategies from different schools to best meet YOUR needs-- rather than expecting your needs to fit into our orientations. These may include attachment, family systems, cognitive, rational emotive, and/or dialectical behavioral therapy techniques.
We will work together to decide how frequently we will meet depending on your needs, goals and availability.
